Living In Yanceyville
Yanceyville is a small rural town with a little slower pace
from our larger neighboring communities. In an effort to make
finding the services needed for day-to-day life easier, we have
gathered information for the basic services that residents and
prospective residents may need to establish residency in the
Town of Yanceyville.
Auto
Registration Plates
All new residents
of North Carolina are required to purchase license
plates upon establishing residency.

Road for information regarding purchasing plates and

Liability insurance is required
on all vehicles and a certificate of insurance from
the insurer must be presented with the application
for license. The fee for passenger car plates is
$20.00.
All residents
are required to have a North Carolina Driver's License
which may be obtained at the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Applicants must take the oral or written examination
and are subject, to a driving test. At the time for
renewal drivers are required to take the eye exam and
road sign test when renewing the license.
A Class C (regular) driver's license is $2.50 per year
(varying from 4 to 8 years). Contact the DMV for information
on Class A and B driver's licenses.
All licenses expire on your birthday.
You are required to have your address changed within
60 days.

Mini bike operation
A license is
required to operate on public streets and highways.
Operators must be at least age 16.
Where do I
get a marriage license?
Marriage license
A marriage license is valid for 60 days after the issue
date.
There is no waiting period. The couple must present
a certified copy of their birth certificates and show
their driver's licenses or Social Security Cards.
If either person has been divorced they must present
a copy of the judgment.
If either party in the couple wishing to be married
is under 18 their parents are required to sign the marriage
license.
The cost of the license is $40.00 and may be obtained
