| Where do I register my license plates? |
Auto Registration Plates All new residents of North Carolina are required to purchase license plates upon establishing residency.
Contact the Yanceyville License Plate Agency is located at 1430 Main Street at Caswell Tire Service, Inc. for information regarding purchasing plates and vehicle inspections. 336-459-3300
Liability insurance is required on all vehicles and a certificate of insurance from the insurer must be presented with the application for license. The fee for most passenger cars is $28.00, unless personalized tags or vehicles over 4000 pounds.

| Where do I get my Driver's License Renewed? |
Drivers License All residents are required to have a North Carolina Driver's License which may be obtained at the Department of Motor Vehicles. Applicants must take the oral or written examination and are subject to a driving test. At the time for renewal drivers are required to take the eye exam and road sign test.
A Class C (regular) driver's license is $2.50 per year (varying from 4 to 8 years). Contact the DW for information on Class A and B driver's licenses.
All licenses expire on your birthday. You are required to have your address changed within 60 days.

| Marriage license |
A marriage license is valid for 60 days after the issue date.
There is no waiting period. The couple must present a certified copy of their birth certificates and show their driver's licenses or Social Security Cards.
If either person has been divorced they must present a copy of the judgment.
If either party in the couple wishing to be married is under 18 their parents are required to sign the marriage license.

| What is the property tax rate for the Town of Yanceyville? |
| The Tax rate for the Town is $.33 per 100.00 of value. |

What is the property tax rate for Caswell County?
|
| The tax rate for the County is $0.675 per $100.00 of value. Therefore, the combined Town and County tax rate is $1.00.5 per $100.00. |
| Where do I pay for my property taxes? |
Both Town and County property taxes can be paid at the Caswell County Tax Office located on the Lower floor of the Caswell County Courthouse on Church Street. Payments can also be mailed to the following address:

| When are property taxes due? |
| Property taxes are due and payable on August 1st of each year. However, late fees and interest are not charged until the following January 6th. To avoid interest and late fee, please pay your property taxes on or before January 5th. To deduct property taxes on your income tax returns for the current year, payments must be made by December 31. |
| Where do I go to list my property? |
| You may list your property at the Caswell County Tax Office located on the lower floor of the Caswell County Courthouse on Church Street. You do not have to list real estate that has already been listed in a previous year. Also, the Caswell County Tax Office from information provided by the DMV automatically lists motor vehicles registered with the NC Division of Motor Vehicles. You must list any improvements or additions to real estate, unregistered motor vehicles, boats, trailers, and business or farm equipment. |
