GET INVOLVED IN YOUR COMMUNITY !
As part of the NC STEPS program (article below) the Town is seeking volunteers with property or business interest that would serve as the Steering Committee in developing a plan for initiatives. The Town is eligible to receive $200,000 to implement local projects. This committee would meet monthly for approximately one hour to help develop a plan for this grant project. The Town will receive training and coaching assistance and there would be opportunity for you to share your opinions and ideas. This is an excellent opportunity to become actively involved in the revitalization of your community. The Town of Yanceyville has been selected by the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center to take part in the NC Small Town Economic Prosperity (NC STEP) demonstrative program. NC STEP is a part of the center's Small Towns Initiative launched in 2005 to help revitalize the state's economically distressed towns of fewer than 10,000.

One of the projects being considered by the NC STEP committee is a Crafter's Mall. It will provide an avenue for local artisans to sell their wares. The Mall will serve as a tourist attraction and provide income to the local economy as well as provide an outlet for local crafters to promote and sell their work. There are several locations that are well suited to house the mall.

Below is a survey form for Crafter's or others interested in this project to complete to provide feedback to the committee considering this project. Please complete the survey and mail to Town of Yanceyville, P O Box 727, Yanceyville, NC 27379 or email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
