Garbage Collection
The Town of Yanceyville provides curbside garbage and trash collection for the residents of Yanceyville. The Town contracts with a private company to provide this service.

Trash collection takes place on Tuesday

Garbage must be in a sturdy container not over 40 gallons with a lid and must be placed curbside.  Garbage not in an approved container will not be picked up.  The Town charges $5.50 per month for providing this service to it's citizens.  This monthly fee is added to the water bill.

Businesses must contract for their garbage collection with a private company as the Town does not provide garbage collection for businesses.

Questions regarding your Garbage collection should be directed to Town Hall at 336-694-5431.

Guidelines for Refuse Collection
• The Town does not collect yard debris. Only household garbage

• Never mix household trash in with your yard waste

• All trash should remain back of the curbing and not in the streets.             Because this is very hazardous to traffic

• No construction, remodeling or demolition material will be picked up

• White goods such as appliances should be taken to the Landfill on Highway 86 N.

• If you regularly have more household garbage than will fit into your container, please get another one. No trash should be left outside of the containers. Trash that is in bags, boxes or other non approved containers will not be picked up.

Maud F. Gatewood Memorial Park

The Town of Yanceyville was awarded 7+ acres on Firetower Road in Yanceyville, NC which was dedicated to be used to develop a park.

The Town applied for and received $155,000 from State Grants and $150,000 from a Federal Grant to be used to develop the project. It has a paved walking trail, picnic shelters, bathroom facilities, and horseshoe pitching areas. Construction was completed in the summer of 2008 and the park is now open.

The Maud F. Gatewood Memorial park is named in memory of Yanceyville native and national known artist Maud F. Gatewood.
