WITHIN FIVE-FEET OF THE ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY.
SOLID WASTE PLACED IN UNAPPROVED

Garbage Collection
The Town of Yanceyville provides curbside garbage
and trash collection for the residents of Yanceyville.
The Town contracts with a private company to provide
this service.
Trash collection takes place
on Tuesday
Garbage must be in a sturdy
container not over 40 gallons with a lid and must
be placed curbside. Garbage not in an approved
container will not be picked up.
The Town charges $5.50 per month for providing this
service to it's citizens. This monthly fee is added to the water bill.
Businesses must contract for their garbage collection
with a private company as the Town does not provide
garbage collection for businesses.

Guidelines for Refuse Collection
The Town does
not collect yard debris. Only household garbage
Never mix household trash in with your yard
waste
All trash should remain back of the curbing
and not in the streets. Because this is very hazardous
to traffic
No construction, remodeling or demolition material
will be picked up
White goods such as appliances should be taken
to the Landfill on Highway 86 N.
If you regularly have more household garbage
than will fit into your container, please get another
one. No trash should be left outside of the containers.
Trash that is in bags, boxes or other non approved
containers will not be picked up.

Steps to
getting your water service connected
All dwellings must
meet the Town of Yanceyville's minimum code requirements
before water is connected.
An application is submitted to the Customer Service
Department, located on the first floor lobby area of
Town Hall (enter through front door closest to Church
Street).
Renters will be required to pay a $100.00 deposit
for service from the Town. In addition
they must provide a copy of their lease agreement and a
picture ID.
If you are a property owner in the Town, the
deposit may be waived.
The meter is read before water service starts
to get a beginning reading..
You will not be billed for service for at least
28 days before your service begins.
If any questions arise, contact your Customer
Service Representative.
For your information ...
Water
bills are due by the 30th of the month when rendered.
A
late fee of $10.00 is applied after the due date.
If
payments are not made by the 5th day of the following
month after the due date, water service will be
subject to disconnection without further notice.
A
$35.00 returned check fee will be assessed for all
returned checks.
A
$25.00 reconnect fee will be assessed to any disconnected
service.
A
night depository is available at the front of Town
Hall for payment after regular business hours.
Recognizing the importance
of offering excellent service to its residents, the
Town of Yanceyville provides a Customer Service Department.
The Customer Service branch operates under the direct
supervision of the Town Manager.

Yanceyville
Municipal Services Building And Parking Lot
The
Town recently acquired a building adjacent to Town Hall
at 158 E Church St. This building houses Public Works. The Town in partnership
with Piedmont Community College provides a portion
of the renovated building to be used as a "Law
Enforcement Training Center" to train Department of
Corrections personnel as well as other law enforcement
and emergency services personnel throughout the region.
Adjacent to this services building is the Municipal
Parking Lot, which provides parking for this building.

Maud F. Gatewood Memorial
Park
The
Town of Yanceyville was awarded 7+ acres on Firetower
Road in Yanceyville, NC which was dedicated to be
used to develop a park.
The Town applied for and received $155,000 from State
Grants and $150,000 from a Federal Grant to be used
to develop the project. It has a paved walking
trail, picnic shelters, bathroom facilities, and horseshoe
pitching areas. Construction was completed in the
summer of 2008 and the park is now open.
The Maud F. Gatewood Memorial park is named in memory
of Yanceyville native and national known artist Maud
F. Gatewood.

Grounds Maintenance
Grounds Maintenance
crews are responsible for the upkeep of the Town's
properties, Welcome to Yanceyville Gateway signs
and Town owned buildings and the Gatewood Park.
This includes mowing grass, picking up leaves, pruning,
painting, cleaning parking lots, and removing dead
flowers and limbs, etc..
There are four Welcome to Yanceyville gateway
signs:
Highway 86 N
Highway 158 W
Highway 62
Highway 86 S
they are maintained by Town crews.

Street &
Facility Maintenance
The Town of Yanceyville
is responsible for maintenance of streets within the
Town limits. Not all of the streets in the town are
the Town's responsibility. North Carolina Department
of transportation is responsible for the majority of
them. These include US and NC highways plus other streets
that begin in the Town and end in the county. The Town
is also responsible for maintaining the sidewalks.
