Water Plant
The Yanceyville Water Plant is located at 1316 West
Main St., Yanceyville, NC. Our water source is Farmer Lake,
a man-made lake created by a dam on Country Line Creek. Located
west of Yanceyville on Old Highway 62 South, Farmer Lake has
a surface area of 366 acres and a 1 MGD surface water treatment
plant has 645,000 gallons per day of excess capaTown that can
supply Yanceyville with a good source of surface water for many
years to come. In addition to an excellent source of raw water,
the Town has a 1.0MGD Water Treatment Facility and a 750,000
gallon clear well that has been in operation since September
2000. This represents 86% of the County's total excess water
capaTown. This state of the art treatment facility and additional
storage is capable of providing the Town of Yanceyville with
an adequate supply of water for future growth.
Raw Water
The Town of Yanceyville has one drinking water
supply lake, Farmer Lake, located west of Yanceyville on Old
Highway 62 South. This is a man-made lake covering over 366
acres and can supply Yanceyville with a good source of surface
water for many years to come.
Although there are home sites along the shores of the Lake,
the activities on the lake are restricted. Lake residents
must have the proper dock, boat and ramp permits and swimming
is prohibited. The public must adhere to certain restrictions
regarding the lake's use.
